Wonderful small pair of thick hoops seen from as early as 1900s.
These are of Straits Chinese heritage, where such solid gold hoops hugged the earlobes and open with an enclosed (hidden) hinge that snaps close nicely.
These hoops are possibly higher than 20k gold, somewhere between 20k and 22k gold. They come to 11mm all around.
The granulated beads are a cultural mark across the history of so many cultures, Chinese, Mughal, Persian, and the list covers almost all of ethnic jewelry.
The soulful thing about granulated gold work is in its reminder of our shared humanity. You can’t quite say this is Chinese ‘specifically’ 😉
