Mid-century gold stud earrings detailed with two enamel flowers in 22k.
The enamel is not paintwork but glass, as traditional enamelling is. Hence their enamel colours vary to the eye according to how much light it reflects.
Each stud may only be 7mm but the details are not lost. Each flower is deep and simple, which means its colour appears vivid.
In daylight, the enamel is a very lovely pastel. In darker areas, there is an autumnal colour from the gold beneath the enamel, like the pastel is desaturated. This effect cannot be replicated in cold enamel (paint or resin).
Did you see the matching flower pendant? The flowers are different but they are all pale beauties.
