Vintage 18k ruby link bracelet set with all natural rubies, with a total of 15.

It is uncommon to find a link bracelet like this, old or new, because there is just too much work involved to set a piece as this.

The rubies are hand set in imperfect bezels and each bezel is linked to the next in an ingenious way to prevent it from twisting. Besides serving this purpose, these gold links form an aesthetic reminiscent of ancient Egyptian and Roman jewelry.

The rubies are a uniform true ruby colour throughout. The bracelet feels like a flat sheath between the fingers, crafted so well.

The bracelet is a short 6", but I can hand fabricate extra round links to fit most wrists, similar to the emerald bracelet also photographed.

I put the time period to the ’70s as a conservative timeframe.

So much of jewellery is inspired by historical Roman pieces, like this, also seen in the multi gem jewellery of the flapper era.

Unlike a lot of hastily made jewellery, there is enduring beauty in this modern ruby link bracelet.
