Natural jade ‘pinwheel’ or ‘snowflake’ pendant set with jadeite donut and diamonds in 22k gold.
The natural jadeite donut is a bright green color, a unique jade color between imperial green and apple green, with gently mottled parts a dark green.
The donut spans 1.8cm, its surreal shade of green is carried beautifully through its donut form, contoured but not fully rounded, a traditional form of jade donuts.
The jade donut is striking against the high karat yellow gold, the pinwheel carrying a bevy of diamonds and a rose cut at its centre.
The pendant’s sentiment is prominent, but very delicate. Tallest at 3cm, its dainty form will allow a chain that is antique, or ultra modern.
A hanging charm-size donut in a pendant is not easy to find; many tend to be plain or else overwrought in filigree, or just too big.
This pendant is special, because it is a single piece, handmade by us, to complete a story we sensed.
By itself, the pinwheel pendant will wear well with much of green jade jewellery.
Though, on its own, it already feels like a little heirloom.
