This is a Straits necklace set with ‘intan’ (hand cut ‘rose cut’) diamonds from this region.
The diamonds are the most primitive cut of diamonds, also spliced this way for an organic beauty seen only in Straits Peranakan jewelry.
This is a youthful piece, young women wore such designs with rough-hewn diamonds with a carefree aura.
