Antique Chinese Jade Earrings

Fine Straits Chinese earrings set with jade or carvings either 20k.

These are period jewelry belonging to this region, with a distinct East West flair.

We collected them over a period of time, with the intention of curation in a group to show familia in Straits jewelry.

These high karat gold earrings are the result of our love for yellow gold that is truly golden, the gold which when paired with green stones has a memorable delicacy.

The styles range from 1910s to 1940s, the latest being the jade and diamond pair.

These paisley shaped earrings evolved from early Chinese earrings shaped like phoenix’ tail, with a certain coyness along the earlobes.

Early Chinese earrings bigger than mere studs are often lever-backs, also the earliest form of huggie earrings in jewelry. The idea is not to lose these bigger earrings set with sometimes expensive or multiple stones.

The adapted style has a peculiar ‘East West’ look, and you will only see these representations in the jewelry of Singapore (historically ‘Malaya’).
