The vintage handmade necklace shows off deep red rubies of a ‘blood red’ hue.

They range between 0.8ct to 2.8ct, the latter is the centre biggest ruby.

Arranged in a single line design with bigger stones to the centre, its simplicity has revived its fashion again.

These unheated rubies are considered big for a necklace, making what is a Deco design slightly ‘chunkier’.

It is the thickest of the three necklaces photographed – hard-to-find colored stone necklaces with natural, unheated rubies and sapphires.

Like the other blue sapphire necklace, its finely-thinned gold work shows craftsmanship made bezel by bezel, not cast.

These blood red rubies do not have the pink of Burmese rubies, just a deep, clean red with no modifying color.

The necklace’s yellow gold is cooled by its white diamonds to a Noir elegance, wearable day to day with both yellow and white gold jewelry.

Its style is sleek, and not quite what one imagines when it is worn.
