This is a vintage Burmese ring.
The natural ruby is pinkish red, clean and very fiery through its superb color.
This is a dainty ring, the small ruby set well into a setting that does not lose the stone.
The ring’s face is almost round, a yellow gold ring whose face is very much white.
Its size will make a great everyday ring, its petite proportion is more than pretty.
This ring was acquired with an equally dainty pair of Burmese stud-and-drop earrings, do consider the pairing of both items as they are period pieces that wear beautifully together.
The Burmese ruby ring is photographed with a Mozambique ruby ring, to show the Mogok red is never red, but really a peculiar red of how rubies have historically mapped our minds.
