Natural Burma Ruby Necklace Bangle Set

Fine Burmese ruby jewelry set comprising a necklace and a bangle set in 22k.

All stones are unheated and natural, weighing approximately 30ctw.

Vivid and intensely saturated, even in their emerald cuts, these natural rubies have that identifiable ‘pinkish red’ tone of Burmese red rubies.

Many Burmese rubies are commonly heated. To get unheated rubies with no residue AND still in a bold red AND clean – it is not easy.

Hence this necklace is precious for getting in one place many uniformly red untreated rubies of Burmese provenance.

The rubies are prong set into individual ‘box’ bezels that are interlinked box-by-box, a technique that gives an outlook like many Georgian multi-stone necklaces.

The necklace is semi-flexible to maintain a line design, the stones graduating in size slightly towards the centre.

These ruby stones are not small, the centre stones 1ct or thereabouts, the smallest 0.4ct.

This is a vintage set, the rubies are an uncalibrated lot of stones that when set into an unembellished line design look somewhat calibrated.

This organic effect is beautiful.

The oval hinged bangle has hand-carved scroll etching on its gold.
