1900s solid gold Straits Chinese cuff set in 24k.
Possibly made before the turn of the last century, this is an early twisted gold cuff.
Each rod is 3mm thick and solid, they come together in a firm and flexible cuff.
The three rods are twisted and the end game is primitive but complete.
The cuff can be styled with the open end front or back, both looks seem like a different piece.
Worn alone or with others the jewelry takes on an aesthetic beyond mere gold.
The thick twists give no fear of the cuff being too ‘soft’, this form will keep and fit across most wrists.
The bangle weighs 43 grams, quite surprisingly and yet it must be so.
