Type A Burmese jadeite jade bangle with an internal diameter of 57.8mm.
This is a bi color jadeite bangle, with a painterly spread of lavender and apple green hues throughout.
Loosely speaking, there are four distinct color parts. One green part, caught between lavender on each side, and the opposite to the green the faintest lavender.
The beauty to this thick set bangle, at 14mm tall and 10mm thick, is that the jadeite display both “cottony” (the lavender) and “moss in jade” (the green).
It would appear that the apple green part, with its almost individual ‘strands’ of green moss, forms the bangle’s centrepiece.
Yet the eyes cannot actually see the bangle this way, and rather, as a continuous stream of two colors that interplay, sweetest by their hues contrasted against the other.
It is the color that makes it delicate (ie. not chunky) when wearing jade bangles of bigger sizes, or jade bangles that are cut thick.
It is also the color that makes a difference to how ‘heavy’ or ‘light’ a bangle feels, a lesser known experience that can only be substantiated by those who have worn jade bangles over a long part of their lives.
In short, this bangle is dense and delicate, not impossible where jadeite’s concerned. This painterly bangle is unique to the eye.
