7ct Cornflower Unheated Blue Sapphire Ring
Fine halo diamond ring set with an unheated 7ct cornflower blue sapphire and accented with 0.8ctw diamonds in 18k.
This is a Sri Lankan cornflower blue sapphire, with a saturated blue, meaning there is no part the stone fades in color.
The natural sapphire has visible inclusions if you look carefully, but the blue is uniform and bright such that the inclusions make the stone a vivid gem.
The sapphire’s oval cut is drawn out, but deep, and the blue fires from this depth.
The sapphire extends farther out on its mount, its ’rounder’ face brings attention to the stone’s shapeliness, somewhat like old cut sapphires in antique rings.
There are no lack of halo sapphire rings, contemporary or antique, but this is one with a quality stone, color, cut, and carat considered.
The sapphire’s face measures 10.88 x 8mm, and the ring’s face comes to 17.33 x 14.38mm, which will give the wearer a visible statement ring.
