Natural Amethyst and Sapphire Necklace

Fine natural gemstone necklace set with amethyst and sapphire in 18k.

This is a vintage set showing off the soft colors of all natural Burmese gems.

The amethyst teardrops are briolettes, hanging off heart cut sapphires, unheated.

The sapphire hearts range from pastel to medium tones, the blues being the most saturated.

The idea is to contrast the bright sapphires against the warmth of the crystal amethysts.

These Burmese sets were designed freely (one-off); their traditional gold work is tantamount to an organic finish from being wholly hand-formed, bezel and loop.

It is a fine set of jewelry combining precious and semi-precious stones, with the velvety display of Burmese gems.

While briolettes tend to be fast fashion, this set is both fun to wear and a little investment on soulful Burmese stones.

Photos show the gems in light and in shadow, because the subtle colors of stones put together this way move and glow from light play.

The necklace is 18″, the center drop comes to 50mm.

The drop earrings wear comfortably, at 45mm long.

The clean sapphires weigh approximately 25 to 30ctw (TBC).
