Carved Full Green Jadeite Jade Bangle

Rare vibrant green jadeite jade bangle with an internal diameter of 56.5mm.

This type of jadeite is highly collectible as the mine has been exhausted and is no longer being mined.

Gan Qing jade is typically either speckled with black spots or areas of white. Valued for its aptitude of being greener than most jadeite, it is nevertheless, always opaque, and always heavily carved to conceal flaws or salvage its green parts.

This bangle is precious not because it is Gan Qing jadeite (翡翠干青), but because it is the best-in-class for a branch of jadeite and contrary to what it usually shows.

Displaying a rich vibrant green with the absence of the above, the density allows the pair of pixius (chasing a dragon pearl) to be finely carved as finials, leaving the rest of the bangle untouched to showcase the material’s exceptional state.

In jadeite (翡翠), a full vibrant green is always the elixir, whichever branch it occurs on.
