Mid century dainty necklace set with emeralds and diamonds in 18k.
This Chinese necklace is an Art Deco inspired piece, handmade in the 1960s in this region.
A ‘banner’ style in delicate proportions, each chevron ‘flag’ is tallest at 10mm and 18mm wide, the centrepiece streamlined and subtle in its two-tone gold.
The five emerald cabochons look very much like jadeite, its deep green is set off by diamonds both tiny (many) and bigger (four), the contrasting white in its golden form.
The five chevrons linked by these four brilliant diamonds is a simple yet graceful touch.
The necklace is an example of the goodness in “mid century modern” jewelry design, but its loveliest must be its sleek two tone aura contained in a dainty package.
The necklace measures 18″ long. The chain can be shortened to wear at choker length.
The diamonds weigh 2.75ctw.
