Natural Burmese Sapphire Necklace and Bracelet Set Vintage

Fine Burmese sapphire jewelry comprising a necklace and bangle set in 18k.

The unheated sapphires weigh 15.5ctw (necklace) and 4.9ctw (bangle).

These natural sapphires are dark blue, the whole as a lot display with the likeness of royal blue sapphires.

Overall the sapphires display more evenly in blue than the photos show.

This is what makes this set precious, sapphires of ‘Royal Blue’ tone and size with provenance.

In the necklace, each sapphire is not small, the biggest 0.8ct or thereabouts, the smallest 0.5ct.

In the bangle, each ruby is about 0.3ct.

These Burmese natural sapphires are not easy to come by, let alone buy them in ready-made jewelry.

Many Burmese sapphires are removed from vintage jewelry, to realize their market price, as loose stones ready to be set into creative designs.

The necklace is old-fashioned in its period jewelry look, but it does not wear old-fashioned. The same applies to the bangle.

These pieces when worn feel quite different from how they display in a still photograph.

Paired with diamonds in white gold, the deep-blue-and-white color way give a modern ‘Noir’ impression, though the set is made with traditional Burmese craftsmanship.

The necklace is 17.5″.

The petite open-close bangle is 2.25″ widest (not big, though it will fit many hands).

Total sapphire weight is 20.4ctw. Diamonds weigh 4.32ctw.
