Persian Turquoise Jewelry

Fine turquoise statement necklace comprising a collar necklace and detachable locket pendant.

This is striking classical jewelry, with substantial weight, handmade over twelve long months.

We created this with view to become a modern heirloom, specifically to wear with strong aura presence.

Turquoise is a Persian stone, though its life in the history of yellow gold jewelry is often seen through the Hellenistic eye.

The large bezelled layout cannot escape the Greco classical reference, albeit towing its Anglophile sentimental locket, but this turquoise set has bypassed a lot of historical ornamentation to stage a modern approach to turquoise and virgin gold (high karat gold).

Alone each stone is large, in line they do not overwhelm if you are used to wearing larger stones.

When the turquoise were loose stones, sitting in the dim gems cabinet, they caught attention whichever way and with whoever, even in passing.

It is why we decided to keep these stones together, in a single piece of jewelry that retains this ability to captivate because it showcases something. Stones of variegation become meaningful when the whole can be seen through its differentiation.

There are eight turquoise cabochons on the necklace, the last two are unusual grandidierite cabochons, also a playful reveal that the jewel is a present-day tribute.

The largest cabochon on the locket bears an extremely unique ‘map’ imprint, the yellow and white resemble the terrestrial imagination when viewed from above.

The locket is crafted with laborious Etruscan granulation to its side, and we cut the crystal (not glass) from rough quartz material to fashion an authenticity suitable for a locket following grand tradition.

The crystal has a magnifying aspect for any photo, for now we put in place its woven Tao.

The turquoise stones are bordered by traditional enamel, here we hope for an inconspicuous twinning to its stone.

The labour of love in the creation of a piece like this in present day is to be experienced in the details, and any admiration our connecting thread.

Stones of spirit given a high jewelry sophistication is a lavish statement, but archetypal art is unconscious and driven by a sense of the unknown.

Worn slightly lower, as in a relaxed V neck, this is its sweet spot, a deliberate placement to show the bewitching states of Persian turquoise, animating the wearer’s aura in the process.
