Vintage Jade Pendant

Fine platinum pendant set with jadeite jade and accented with diamonds.

This intense apple green jadeite is often mislabeled as imperial green, largely due to its vivid tone and cloud free green.

This pendant is exemplary as the last of old school charm, poised between antique and midcentury looks.

Made very well and with its design perfectly honouring the cabochon’s measurements, the pendant is visually striking.

The lovely East-West style in a jade piece like this does not originate from the West, and is almost always made in a short window of time between style periods.

This is in part due to affluence and aesthetic in an earlier short period (which allowed for its existence), and then after the last war subsequent jewelry periods tend towards mass refinement.

Some antique and vintage forms are transcendental – this explains why this piece can be fluid, whether as pendant or ring.

The jade is beveled and hovers above the gold work. The pendant wears with a big expanse displayed to the eye.

The thing associated with ‘Chinoiserie’ can be seen fervently in this pendant, also why the original in better than its imitators.
