Vintage Enamel Pendant Necklace

1930s Chinese enamel pendants set in 22k.

The pendants are paired with a blue sapphire and pink spinel beaded necklace.

These hyper enamel pendants are an example of the Straits Chinese lighthearted (but serial) approach to love and luck.

The round pendant is a pair of swans, the heart pendant is the adventure that awaits, travel by sea and air, in both evanescent skies beckon.

Both pendants are collectible for having portraiture enamel, in a large format, and preserved very well.

Emblematic motifs are carved into the gold, tiny hands strive here to have the enamel abound – this is a technique that is not easy to do, and will often turn out lacklustre, or tacky.

These manifesting charms become meaningful with everyone’s passage of time, even if kooky personality pieces now.

The saturated blue sapphire and clean rosy spinel beads are both Burmese, of a good quality and nowhere typical. If these beads were even slightly bigger, they will be considerably expensive.

With a 14k clasp, and everything else 24k solid gold accents.
