GIA 10ct Cat Eye Alexandrite Chrysoberyl Gem
Natural cat’s eye alexandrite chrysoberyl weighing 10.64ct.
The Sri Lanka stone changes from Yellow-Green to Orangy Brown.
This stone is considered a very clear specimen, with an excellent lustre and chatoyancy.
The shadows from the photos are reflections, the gem appears see-through at one glance.
Compare the two cat’s eye stones in one photo: a honey cat’s eye chrysoberyl and this alexandrite species. This cat’s eye alexandrite chrysoberyl is so transparent you look right through the stone.
This transparency is uncommon for an alexandrite cat’s eye stone.
The last photo is the gem in its natural, ‘sleepy’ state (no light directed).
This cat’s eye is also a good size for a statement ring, taking on stature, as one of those Nizam rings, when flanked by diamonds.
The stone measures 12.5 x 10 x 8 mm.
