Natural Cornflower Blue Ceylon Sapphire Ring

Fine sapphire ring set with a 11.2ct unheated blue sapphire and diamonds in 18k.

The Sri Lankan sapphire is a light cornflower blue with excellent lustre.

The four corners of the cushion cut stone are bordered by diamonds in an almost round ring face, a ‘squircle’.

The contained diamond halo is a subtle touch that very much manifests the sapphire’s size.

This rim of diamonds is meticulously set and embedded into the gold.

In fact the diamonds are dropped at a certain distance behind the main stone, it is a ‘shadow’ halo.

The fire of the sapphire can be perceived along all four sides, through the ‘garrison’ prongs which hoist the stone beautifully.

These columnar prongs harness the color of the sapphire, honed to a deeper tone.

The elegance of this ring is its sculptural form, a stone with corners set harmoniously, the cushion stone focal to the whole shapely ring.

The angular beauty of the cushion sapphire is soft from the front but distinct from the sides, aspic blue between golden columns.

The ring’s face measures 17mm around.
