15ct Unheated Burmese Blue Sapphire Gem

Unheated Burmese Blue Sapphire

Unheated blue sapphire weighing 15.25ct from Burma.

The blue is a Burmese blue, distinct before trained eyes.

The blue is of medium saturation, considered quite clean and importantly, bright.

Many Burmese sapphires are velvety, what distinguishes the energy of a stone is its brightness.

When set, this sapphire will be honed to a deeper intensity due to its fine lustre, this makes good use of the Burmese velvety quality.

Its fire in daylight seems to overcome any silk in the stone, as can be observed in the video.

The Burmese stone is shown between two Ceylon sapphire rings, close to Ceylon cornflower blue but with its distinct ‘indigo’ twist.

All photos are taken in natural light, no additional lamp is used.

The stone measures 16.13 x 12.18 x 9.21 mm.

No refunds or exchanges are accepted for resized or customised items, and items paid by layaway.
