In the old days, in order to achieve this color in the gold, the bracelet would have to have a high palladium content. This bracelet is not rhodium plated, unlike much of modern white gold jewellery.
This original white gold hue is especially precious because high shine would kill its soft antique beauty.
The six oval cabochons are arranged by size and set elliptical, surely an East West practice that refreshes the oval form.
The ‘Omega’ watch strap comprises hand soldered flat chevron links that maintain the shape of the bracelet when worn, much like a lady’s vintage watch.
A watch strap bracelet in antique fine jewellery is always coveted. In handcrafted pieces as this, the strap (chevron links) thins moving away from the centrepiece, a subtlety of quiet craftsmanship.
