Jadeite Choker Necklace

Fine beaded tiered necklace set with jadeite jade and accented with diamonds in 18k.

The natural jade is a mottled green, of a high quality and brightness, nowhere is dull.

These beads were collected to create this design, over a long period.

The five strands are strung to fall very perfectly, the middle length between 15.5″ to 16″.

One photo shows each strand is expertly weighted to drape differently from the next.

This draping technique is not easy to achieve in beaded jewelry, absent in many, hence they are always twisted to overcome this.

This necklace is choker length but because it drapes for five rounds, the look is a statement necklace nearing but not cropped to the base of the neck.

The design gathers the shawl of beads to drape naturally and is the magic.

In fact, the diamond accent is poised to also wear at the front beautifully. This is not the same thing as moving the back to the front.

The diamond ‘cameo’ accent is crafted very well, a sleek ‘invisible’ clasp measuring 21mm by 16mm, pendant-sized.

There is no feeling of weight and the whole displays as a sensual accent at the neck.

The beads gently graduate in size from 8mm (centre) to 5mm (back).

Even if you are not used to wearing choker length necklaces, this piece will be your go-to.

It is one of those rather unbelievable designs, better worn than imagined, and better owned than imitated.

This is a vintage piece; the beads at this size and full green are quite hard to find now – every bead is bright with no dark inclusions.
