Light Padparadscha Sapphire

A pair of unheated padparadscha sapphires weighing 6.11ct and 5.52ct from Sri Lanka.

The sapphires are light pink with orangey undertones, a very special hue.

The natural inclusions do not hinder with the fire of the stones.

The subtle orange undertone distinguishes these stones as not just pink.

The lower the light, the more your eyes with see the orange.

It is very hard to capture in video the undertone in this pair, since the saturation is light, hence the video is taken in room light.

Away from daylight, the sapphires display a distinct salmon tint in the lightness of the pink, very sweet (last photo shows this clearly).

This hue will surprise when set into gold, since the metal warms the stone thoroughly.

These are certified by NGI (our local gem lab) as padparadscha sapphires.

This pair is suitable if you are after a light infused sapphire, and you have a jeweler who knows how to work the lighter palette of sapphires, specifically pads.

The 6.11ct stone measures 11.97 x 8.34 x 7.52 mm

The 5.52ct stone measures 12.61 x 9.45 x 5.02 mm.

This pair will make a not-small pair of earrings, or a pendant and a ring duo.

Natural and well sized, these are not common to come by.
