Much of so-called light or pale lavender jade is in reality tinged with grey or offset by much white. It is not the case in this exceptional set – the unique jadeite color in the two icy large cabochons forms its value.

The jadeite is highly translucent icy lavender jade, but the matter to be considered is how a lightly-tinted lilac hue is observable in lavender jade, a rare occurrence.

(The same is said of its tone at the opposite end, intensely-saturated purple hue in lavender jade is just as rare.)

All the way from day light to low light, the lavender in the jade changes and displays its shadowy beauty.

It is this tonal flow that makes light lavender jade breathtaking.

The contemporary jade design breathed onto the cabochons big and small is a miniature work of assembly, its juxtaposition looks easy on the eyes only because it is accomplished form.
