This is a Straits Chinese bracelet.
This is a traditional Peranakan ‘filigree’ design, the delicate open pierced work is a blend of ethnic and Victorian motifs.
Not merely Anglo-Sino but a rich variegated art in Southeast Asia’s jewelry culture, this bracelet is one of the earlier pieces.
Set with old cut diamonds, this dainty bracelet is considered simple in its motifs, the underlying alloy is solid yellow gold though this has been plated a rose gold.
Just 14mm wide, the bracelet is formed like gold in lace.
