Chinese Antique Jade Bangle

Fine jadeite jade bangle measuring 54mm internal diameter.

The jade is a very bright apple green, a green we very seldom see.

This green is peculiar, only because the brighter green straddles the lighter, giving the mottled effect of cyan green.

This is an antique jadeite bangle, very rarely now will this tone of green jade come up in the material for a jade bangle.

Many achieve this interesting tone only when dyed!

The only caveat being the bangle’s petite form, at 54mm, 10mm tall and 6mm thick.

Observed through many 19th century and early 20th century jade bangles, we are not surprised at its dainty coordinates.

The oval bangle has a gently convex inner face, also a mark of its time.

The bangle has one natural fissure line along its face, it is not a crack but a natural inclusion (shown in first few photos).

The bangle is not fragile anywhere along its material.

Yet if it was not for this, a full green bangle in this very special green tone would be priced considerably upwards.

We have kept this aside for a while, it is time to see if someone will know what it means.

The bangle is remarkable on the wrist, unfolding the phenomenal green of old jade to those who understand jade.
