Carved Lavender Jade Pendant

Fine light lavender jadeite pendant set in 18k.

Its specific vision is to use the lightest of lavender jade in a delightful way.

A search will reveal how uncommon it is for true light lavender to be recognised in jadeite.

Much of so-called light or pale lavender jade is in reality tinged with grey or offset by much white. It is not the case in this pendant – the unique jadeite color in the carving forms its value.

The lavender jade leaf carving is translucent, though not as clear as the cabochons or it would not be carved. That it is carved on both sides is key to its fineness, exacted with a lovely protrusion.

The carving has slightly more warmth to one half of its face, that is more underlying pink, giving the carving a ripple like Nature’s own dappled leaf.

All the way from day light to low light, the lavender in the jade changes and displays its shadowy beauty.

It is this tonal flow that makes light lavender jade breathtaking.

The contemporary jade design is an accomplished flat lay, accentuating the lightest with the brightest, using emerald green leaflets and vivid pinkish rubies.

The set (pendant and earrings) is a curtsy to the imperial jewels of the old Chinese court; it is how gossamer hues in jadeite is sensorial despite being extremely subtle.

This pendant is suitable for one after a light color jade carving encased with a dollop of color, sounds simple enough but great taste is hard to get in simple strokes.

The pendant measures 5.5cm by 2.5cm, perfected with a hidden bail.

Materials include light lavender jade, emerald green jade, with accents in diamonds and rubies.
